The UAC proactively assesses and responds to student needs as professional advisors meet multiple times each semester to formulate the appropriate plan for student success toward degree completion.
Credit will not be awarded by examination to students who have prior credit for the same course or its equivalent.
Grades will not be assigned, nor will hours be used, in the computation of grade point averages.
Professionally trained personnel are available to assist prospective students throughout the admissions process. Texas Education Code (TEC) 51.803-51.809 (State of Texas Uniform Admission Policy) requires that all students meet one of the following college readiness standards in order to be eligible to be considered for admission at a Texas Four-Year Public Institution: Exemptions from the Policy.

To claim an exemption from the policy, students must submit one of the two Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board exemption forms completed by the high school counselor or other school official in addition to all other required credentials for admission by the January 15th closing date.
Registration for the fall semester may be completed at this time and tuition and fees may be paid.
Advance reservations for the summer orientation sessions are required.

Freshmen and sophomores with fewer than 60 credit hours are advised in the Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC).
